Why Peptides

What are peptides and how do they work?

What are peptides?

Peptides are powerful molecular building blocks made up of short chains of amino acids, typically ranging from 2 to 50 linked by peptide bonds. As essential components of proteins, they play a vital role in numerous biological processes, supporting everything from cellular function to overall health and wellness.

What are the structure types of peptides?

Peptides are defined by their unique sequence of amino acids, which determine their structure and function. With 20 different amino acids available, these building blocks can combine in countless ways to create a diverse range of peptides.
Key Structural Components:

Amino Acids: The foundation of every peptide, amino acids link together in specific sequences to form unique structures.

Peptide Bonds: Peptides are created through a dehydration reaction, where the carboxyl group of one amino acid bonds with the amino group of another, forming a strong and stable peptide bond.

This precise structure allows peptides to play essential roles in biological functions, from cellular signaling to protein synthesis.

What are different types of peptides?

Peptides come in various forms, classified by their length and complexity:

Oligopeptides – Short chains of 2 to 20 amino acids, often involved in cellular signaling and regulatory functions.

Polypeptides – Longer chains of 20 to 50 amino acids that serve as precursors to proteins and play key roles in biological processes.

Proteins – Complex structures made up of more than 50 amino acids, folding into specific three-dimensional shapes to perform essential functions in the body.

Each type of peptide contributes to vital processes, from communication between cells to structural support and enzymatic activity.

Why take peptides and what are the benefits?

Peptides play a crucial role in supporting overall health and wellness. They offer a range of potential benefits, including:

Reducing Inflammation & Accelerating Healing – Peptides may help calm inflammation, easing discomfort and promoting faster recovery.

Boosting Immune Function – They can enhance the immune system, helping the body defend against illness and infections.

Protecting Cells with Antioxidant Power – Acting as antioxidants, peptides help neutralize harmful free radicals, reducing cellular damage.

Strengthening Skin & Promoting Healing – Peptides support skin barrier function, helping to fight bacteria, prevent infections, and speed up wound healing.

Supporting Circulatory Health – Certain peptides may help promote better circulation and overall cardiovascular health.

With their diverse benefits, peptides are a natural way to optimize wellness, enhance recovery, and support the body’s essential functions.

How do peptides work?

Peptides act as powerful signaling molecules in the body, playing a vital role in growth, repair, and overall function. They can be produced locally or travel to distant tissues, influencing key physiological processes.

Cell Communication & Growth – Peptide hormones help regulate growth, differentiation, and tissue development.

Targeted Action – Through paracrine (local) and autocrine (self-regulating) signaling, peptides support cell survival, repair, and functionality.

By acting as messengers, peptides help maintain balance and optimize biological processes, making them essential for overall health and wellness.

Our Science

Our approach to the science of peptides and how they optimize health in a way that's never been done.

Why Peptides?

Our peptides deliver real results. Not only did our founder overcome years of long COVID, chronic body ailments, and digestive issues through peptide therapy, but we've also witnessed remarkable transformations in patients of all ages. Peptides are the building blocks of vitality, and when tailored to your unique genetic profile, the outcomes can be extraordinary.

Peptides may help reduce inflammation, easing symptoms and promoting faster healing. They can also act as powerful antioxidants, neutralizing free radicals and protecting your cells from damage. Additionally, peptides support immune function, strengthen the skin barrier to fight bacteria, and help prevent blood clots.

What are the functions of peptides?

Cell Signaling: Peptides function as hormones and signaling molecules, regulating essential processes like glucose metabolism, with insulin being a prime example.

Immune Response: Peptides play a vital role in the immune system, helping identify and fight off harmful pathogens.

Antimicrobial Activity: Some peptides, known as antimicrobial peptides, act as a natural defense by eliminating bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Regenerative Processes: Peptides are crucial for cell growth, repair, and regeneration, supporting processes like wound healing and tissue repair.

What are Celia peptides made from?

Celia peptides are derived from a variety of bioactive sources, including biogenic, opioid, immunomodulatory, salt/metal-binding, antihypertensive, and antimicrobial peptides.

Where are Celia peptide products made?

Our peptide products are crafted in an FDA-approved lab that operates in 48 states, ensuring the highest quality and effectiveness in every product we offer.

How did we come up with our peptide programs?

We were tired of seeing “one-size-fits-all” peptide programs. We spent four years working with more than 850 patients to understand how different peptides work with different gene makeups. Our programs are hyper-personalized where most others are overly-generalized.

How do we integrate peptides into everyday life?

Biotechnology & Medicine: Peptides target specific receptors in the body, aiding in treatments for diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disorders, and more.

Skincare: Peptides promote collagen production, improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and aid in skin repair and hydration.

Sports Nutrition & Recovery: Peptides support muscle recovery, promote lean muscle growth, and enhance physical performance.

Gut Health: Peptides help heal the gut lining, reduce inflammation, and balance the gut microbiome for better digestion.

Immune Support: Antimicrobial peptides fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi, supporting immune function and reducing inflammation.

What is peptide stacking?

Peptide stacking involves combining multiple peptides to enhance the effects of each and target specific physiological processes more effectively. This approach can promote muscle growth, increase lean muscle mass, and accelerate recovery.

Peptide stacks can support weight loss and fat burning while preserving muscle. By combining peptides, you can achieve more comprehensive results across multiple areas of the body simultaneously.

What makes Celia's peptides different?

Peptide products are specialized formulations that harness the power of peptides—short chains of amino acids that play a crucial role in various biological processes. These products are often used in skincare, nutrition, and therapeutic applications due to their ability to support cellular function, improve skin elasticity, and promote overall health.

In the realm of nutrition our peptides are gaining attention for their potential to support muscle growth, recovery, and overall wellness. These supplements often contain bioactive peptides derived from proteins, which can enhance muscle protein synthesis and improve athletic performance.
