The functions of peptides

Cell Signaling

Peptides are involved in cell growth, repair, and regeneration, making them significant in areas like wound healing and tissue repair.

Immune Response

Peptides play a key role in the immune system, helping to recognize and respond to pathogens.

Antimicrobial Activity

Certain peptides, known as antimicrobial peptides, can destroy bacteria, viruses, and fungi, serving as a natural defense mechanism.

Starting with the building blocks of vitality: peptides

The science of peptides encompasses their structure, functions, and diverse applications, highlighting their importance in health, beauty, and medicine.

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, typically consisting of 2 to 50 amino acids linked by peptide bonds. They are fundamental building blocks of proteins and play a crucial role in a wide range of biological processes.

What are the structure types of peptides?

Amino Acids: The structure of a peptide is determined by its amino acid sequence. There are 20 different amino acids that can combine in various ways to form thousands of unique peptides. Peptide Bonds: Peptides are formed through a dehydration reaction between the carboxyl group of one amino acid and the amino group of another, resulting in a peptide bond.

What are the different types of peptides?

Oligopeptides: Short chains of amino acids (2-20) Polypeptides: Longer chains (20-50 amino acids) Proteins: Longer chains (more than 50 amino acids) that fold into specific three-dimensional structures.

Why peptides?

They work. Not only did our founder heal herself through peptide therapy—beating years of long covid, body ailments, and a lifetime of digestive issues—we have seen incredible results with patients young and old. Peptides are the building blocks of vitality, and when we match the right peptides to your genetic profile, the results can be astounding.

How did we come up with our peptides programs?

We were tired of seeing “one-size-fits-all” peptide programs. We spent four years working with more than 850 patients to understand how different peptides work with different gene makeups. Our programs are hyper-personalized where most others are overly-generalized.

What are some of our favorite peptides, and why?

Klotho with exosomes is our favorite peptide as it acts as a master regulator of the entire body. It not only helps heal the kidneys, but may prevent neurodegenerative disease, and boost libido. Oxytocin with Methylene Blue has been a favorite to help lower cortisol and balance hormones in the brain to boost mood and alleviate anxiety.

What lifestyle aspects can peptides impact most?

Our programs specifically utilize peptide therapies, which can include the administration of naturally occurring peptides. Peptides can influence various bodily functions, from muscle growth and fat loss to improved immune response and enhanced cognitive function. Common applications include anti-aging treatments, recovery from injuries, and support for chronic conditions. Together, health and peptide programs can offer a multifaceted approach to wellness, combining the benefits of targeted peptide therapies with broader lifestyle changes to achieve optimal health outcomes and preventing genetic dispositions that extend longevity and quality of life.

What is peptide stacking?

Peptide stacks combine multiple peptides to amplify the effects of each compound and target specific physiological processes. They can promote muscle growth, increase lean muscle mass, and enhance recovery. Additionally, peptide stacks aid in weight loss and fat loss while preserving muscle mass.

What are Celia's peptides made from?

Many bioactive peptides, such as biogenic, opioid, immunomodulatory, salt/metal-binding, antihypertensive, and antimicrobial peptides, can be produced. We work with a lab that is FDA approved in 48 states to product peptides and manufacture high grade products with real benefits.
